
What is Reiki?
Reiki is a Japanese technique for relaxation and stress reduction. It’s a little bit like an energy massage, but instead of using oils and pressure, a Reiki practitioner uses their hands to guide the gentle, Reiki energy through you.
Imagine your body is a river. Sometimes the flow can get blocked by stress or injury, just like rocks in a stream. Reiki helps to clear those blockages and get your energy flowing smoothly again. This can promote feelings of peace, well-being, and healing.
Here are some key things to remember about Reiki:
- It’s a complementary therapy, meaning it works alongside regular medical treatments, not instead of them.
- Many people find it helpful for relaxation and stress relief.
- Reiki sessions are usually very calming. You lie down fully clothed on a massage table while the practitioner gently places their hands on or near your body.
